The resistance to the Catholic Church was increasing. It was noticeable in the towns through the influx of preachers who spread the new teachings of Luther and no longer preached in Latin but rather in German. The Dukes were initially sceptical about this development but did not prevent it.

region Western Pomerania

Unrest spreads through Stettin, Greifswald, Slupsk, Kolberg und Stargard, seeking to unseat the town councils dominated by noblemen.

Pomerania and Brandenburg agree on the question of feudal sovereignty in 1529. The emperor grants enfeoffment to the dukes of Pomerania at the 1530 Diet of Augsburg, making them directly subordinate to the crown.

The region is divided into Pomerania-Wolgast and Pomerania-Stettin in 1532. The regional council of the estates remains unified.
