The foot of the lamp bears the words: “Only for short-term use up to 30 minutes.” An inventory label referred to it as the property of “Heiligendamm Sanatorium.” From 1947 Heiligendamm, as a public facility for the state of Mecklenburg, developed into an all-year round sanatorium for skin diseases, diseases of the respiratory system and cardiovascular diseases with a capacity of 800 beds.
